Welcome to Escape City 13’s Claim Your Legacy competition, where legends are made! Before you jump in, here’s everything you need to know about how this epic contest works.

 Contest Overview:

• Escape City 13’s Claim Your Legacy contest is the ultimate skill-based challenge designed for the fastest, smartest, and most daring escape room teams. 
• Every weekend (Thursday–Sunday) starting November 29th, one featured escape room will host the challenge. 
• The fastest team to escape the featured room within the contest period will win $500 cash and a custom trophy. 
• With a total of $2,500 in cash prizes and five trophies on the line this holiday season, this is your chance to showcase your skills and walk away a legend.

How to Enter: 

• Book a spot by reserving your time in the featured escape room for the weekend through our website.
• Show up and play!

Participation Rules:

• Each team can compete a maximum of four times per weekend to ensure fairness for all participants. 
• Time begins when your game starts and ends when your team successfully completes the final puzzle. 
• All times are recorded and verified by Escape City 13 staff. 
• In the event of a tie, the prize will be awarded to the team with fewer players or, if still tied, the team that completed the game first.
• No help from the game guides in any way.
• No outside assistance in any form allowed. (e.g. Phones, Calculators, Flashlights, etc.)
• No tampering – tampering with props, locks, or puzzles in a way that damages the game or bypasses it’s intended function will lead to disqualification.
• Teams must remain in the room for the duration of the game. Leaving the game for any reason other than an emergency will result in a forfeit.
• The timer for your game begins at your scheduled booking time, whether or not all team members are present.

How to Win: 

• To win the $500 cash prize and trophy, your team must complete all puzzles and challenges in the featured escape room.
• The fastest escape team during the contest period wins the prize. 
• All times are verified and recorded by City 13 staff.

Prize Details: 

• Cash prizes of $500 will be awarded to the fastest team in the featured escape room each weekend.
• Winners will also receive a one-of-a-kind custom trophy. Each escape room has one custom trophy only.
• Prizes are awarded based on skill and adherence to the game rules. 

Technical Issues and Game Malfunctions:

• In the event of a game malfunction, Escape City 13 staff will pause the timer and resolve the issue.
•  If necessary, they may offer a restart or reschedule the game. Escape times will be adjusted fairly and transparently. Staff decisions regarding technical issues are final.

Eligibility:

• The contest is open to all participants age 13 and older. Escape City 13 staff and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.

• Any attempts to cheat, disrupt, or tamper with the competition will result in disqualification. 
• Escape City 13 staff have the final say in all matters related to contest results and rules.
• Cash prizes are non-transferable.
  
• City 13 staff have the final say in all matters related to contest results, including determining any violations to the rules. By participating, you agree to abide by these rules and accept the decision of the staff as final. 

Key Dates: 

• The contest runs every weekend from November 29th to December 22nd. 
• Winners will be announced the following Monday via email and social media.
